Blackberry Pickin'

Today, we went to a local farm to pick blackberries. The boys had a great time experiencing farm life. The blackberries were juicy and delicious and my mom made some yummy pies with them. I can see this becoming a summer tradition. The farmer gave us a really large radish and an onion.

I think the boys enjoyed carrying the buckets more than picking the berries.

Fun at Nana's house

The boys and I made the long drive to TX last week to visit my parents. On the way, it rained most of the time and I was sick, but it was well worth it once we got here. I welcomed the help and pampering my mom brings, and the boys were so happy to see their grandparents. It's getting hot in TX, so we've been playing in the water a lot. My mom set up a slip 'n slide and small pool in her backyard. We miss daddy a lot, but the boys are staying pretty busy so that helps.

Happy Birthday, Graham!

Graham,

You are one of the greatest blessings God has given me. Today, I am so thankful for you, and I celebrate your life and the priviledge I have of being your mommy. You are filled with excitement, energy, and joy.
Last week, at your preschool program the teachers read what the children wanted to be when they grew up. Most said typical answers like a princess, an astronaut, or a fireman. You said you wanted to be like your daddy. My eyes fill will tears just thinking about your sweet little heart. You will be a special man, a man of honor, integrity, and love for God...just like your Daddy. four years old

We are "On Deck"!

Our agency sent us an email yesterday to let us know that we are On Deck which means we should expect to recieve our referral in one to three months. After six months of just waiting and not really hearing much, it is nice to know we are making progress in this process. Actually, we were thrilled to get that email!!

Soccer

Graham just finished up his first soccer season this Spring. He really loved it, and we enjoyed watching him. He loves to run, and this was a good way to burn some of his boundless energy. He liked being a part of a team, and he met some other boys that will be starting kindergarten at the same school next year. It was a really positive experience, and he wants to play again next year. We were proud of our little kicker!

Wesley had a great time cheering on his brother.
