My birthday present

a swing to go in the backyard
Thanks, boys!!

Nine Years!

Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their work:
If one falls down,
his friend can help him up...
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm...
Though one may be overpowered,
two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.

Day Hike

We enjoyed a day of hiking at one of our favorite waterfalls with some friends. Wesley now gets to ride in the backpack, and Graham walks. Graham did a great job keeping up with everyone.

Keith and Brenda are friends we met at church. He also works for Nissan and they moved here about the same time we did. Brenda is so great with Graham and has watched him for me on several occasions.

Shelby enjoyed the day, too!

Wesley's first swim

The pool opened today, and we just couldn't wait to get in! All week, Graham has been watching the men work on the pool and fill it with water. He was so excited to go swimming. It seems that his little brother likes the water as much as he does. Despite the cool temperature of the water, Wesley had a great time splashing. Looks like we'll be spending a lot of time at the pool this summer.

Party Time!

Wesley with his cousin, Drew

Graham just loves Curious George and decided that would be the theme for his party. The weather was perfect so the kids were able to play outside in our backyard.

We played a game similar to hot potato. Instead of a potato we used a banana. Some of the kids caught on quickly, and some weren't too sure about what to do with the banana.

We had hamburgers and hotdogs.

Instead of birthday cake, we ate banana splits.

Graham has some special friends, and we were glad they could celebrate the day with us.

A Birthday Surprise!

Tim's friend found this great bike trailer at a garage sale yesterday. He knew we had been wanting one so he called and asked us if we wanted him to get it for us. We said yes, and he brought it to Graham's party. What a fun thing it has been already! Tim took Graham and Will for a ride after the party. He then took Graham and Wesley for a ride. All the boys liked it. After dinner, we took it to the park with our old tandem bike that used to be Tim's parents' bike. We had so much fun with that bike before Graham was born. We'd ride it all around the downtown area in Plymouth. Since our boys have come along, we didn't have an opportunity to ride it, but now we do.

Happy Third Birthday Graham!

Today is Graham's third birthday. I can hardly believe it. I was telling Tim yesterday it seemed like Graham was just born. We blinked our eyes, and now we have two boys. I keep telling myself to enjoy every minute with them. Before I know it, they'll be graduating and turning into men. For now, I will enjoy the toys scattered throughout the house, getting splashed so much I have to change my clothes after bathtime, wiping faces and bottoms, and all the other joys that come with children. They truly are joys, and I'm so thankful God has entrusted us with Graham and Wesley. We celebrated Graham's birthday with a party yesterday (more pictures to come). Tim and I decorated Graham's room with streamers and ballons while he was sleeping last night. Today has been more relaxed with lunch out after church.

Tim and I gave Graham an art easel since he loves painting so much.

We were happy Perpy got to come for the weekend and help us celebrate. She gave Graham his first bike. Graham's legs aren't quite long enough yet to reach the pedals, but he's excited to have a bike.

Visiting Daddy at work

While our friends from Michigan were here, we made the 30 minute drive to downtown to see Tim at work and eat lunch with him (and Mr. Dan). They work in the Bell South building currently, but it won't be long before Tim's commute is drastically shorten. We all are very excited about the 5 minute drive he will have after July. Even with the longer drive, it's fun to visit him downtown and experience the "big city".

Field Day

Today was Graham's last day of Mother's Day Out for this year. The school had scheduled a special field day that was going to be outside. Because of the weather, it was in the gym. I dropped Wesley off at a friend's house so I could give Graham my full attention. He had a great time painting, jumping in the inflatable house, riding bikes, blowing bubbles, and playing with shaving cream. I'm so glad he's been a part of this program every Friday. He has learned, made new friends, and had fun while he was there. It has been a great experience for both of us.

Wild Ones

This weekend, some of our good friends from Michigan came for a visit. We had so much fun with them while they were here. On Saturday, we took Joe and Marie and their kids to the zoo with Heidi and her kids. We were all good friends in Michigan so it was fun to all be together in TN. The kids had such a great time being together and seeing the animals. Now, we are trying to convince Joe and Marie to move here. Daddy and Graham

Wesley decided to take his morning snooze in the stroller.

Jack is Marie and Joe's son who was born two months after Wesley.

Emma, Gretchen, Graham, and Maddie (Marie and Joe's daugther)
the whole gang (minus Dan who needed to stay home and work on his kitchen floor)
Can you believe we actually got all the kids looking at the same direction and smiling!

Wesley is ten months old!

Our sweet little Wesley is such a joy to us. He's started scooting and can get most places slowly, but he's still pretty content to sit in one place and play with toys. I'm treasuring these days. :) He plays independently really well. He seems to have a sensitive side, and he still loves his brother as long as Graham doesn't get too rough. His hair is getting very long, but I just can't seem to cut it yet. I want to hold on to my baby a little longer. I can't believe he's approaching one!
